True to form I got the show number wrong when announcing it.

This is the long-awaited charity auction podcast won by Brian C. in Portland, OR. Based on my knowledge of New Order and all their related projects he wanted a "best of" Bernard Sumner. It was hard to leave certain songs out but I had to keep the show under 80 minutes so it can be burned to CD.

I never really gave a proper wrap-up, so a few additional notes:

Bernard turned 51 last month.

London Records is releasing deluxe remasters of Joy Division's catalogue this year (Unknown Pleasures, Closer, Still, Substance). The video/live compilation Here Are The Young Men will also have an official DVD release with additional material.

The Ian Curtis biopic Control based on the biography written by his widow and directed by Anton Corbijn will be released this spring. New Order are re-recording some Joy Division material for the soundtrack, which also includes bands like The Killers. The film was shot in black and white and was partially financed by Depeche Mode's Martin Gore.

Show 63 doesn't exist.

62: Happy Birthday Baby Jesus (And Scott)

I Was Born On Christmas Day by Saint Etienne

This show was recorded in London on December 15th at the secret Night Nurse bunker along with the Night Nurse Show's own Scott and Tim from Radio Clash. It was Scott's 30th birthday. :)

I love recording shows with them, and this one is a good mixture of both funny and serious Christmas memories. I hope you enjoy it whatever you celebrate.

My thought was originally to split this into two different podcasts, but as I was trying to replicate my set as originally played that just didn't make sense. I know it's a long show. There's no show intro to keep from making it any longer.

This serves as a "best of £50 Note" up to now, incorporating tracks from the Kiss The Future series with tracks that have appeared in various podcasts.

The introduction is meant to be very tongue in cheek, while the outro is an addition - I'd intended to close out my set with it, but I didn't want any of the crowd to think I was signalling the end of the night since the Cartel Communique guys were going on after me.

The two original songs were recorded in real-time, live, as I mixed this set. In that regard I don't think the vocals are too bad. ;)

You may recognize Zero Return as the theme music to the show. In addition to singing I played a melodica and some cowbell toward the end. Option has lyrics by LD Beghtol (New Criticism/Moth Wranglers/Magnetic Fields) and the addition of shakers.
